Thinking back, I spent half my life walking in wet, soggy school shoes. In the winter, it rained almost everyday and I had "to walk 5 miles, uphill both ways"! Our school uniform was mandatory and so were the hideous shoes. Basically factory grade leather with the most enormous flat, rubber wedge heel (why is there always just one option).
Its raining in Los Angeles today and that got me to thinking - why weren't any of these part of my uniform. Wouldn't that have been practical - I can understand that some of them are a little "loud" - but the Burberry studded ones would have been perfect - black, sensible and stylish!

Love your boot post!! My green Hunter ones have been gazing at me longingly all day, hoping I'm going to take them for walkies.
Lisa: that made me laugh. Im sure they don't get much exercise in LA. Are they longing for the British Isles?
What I love about LA is if there's a drop of rain, on the news its "Storm Watch 2009" !!
I heart the zebra ones. I bought a pair of orange wellies and then I remembered I live in L.A. and I returned them.
p.s. I added you to my blog roll
La Belette Rouge: I hear you! Just another to take up space and to be worn 3 times a year. I am in very good company on your blog roll. Thank you. x
YAYYY!! I love wellies!!
Mine a printed with flowers (orange and navy), and the best part is that the right and left are different. YAY! However, they will most likely last only one season (cheaply made). Those black ones are KILLER.
My friend and I were laughing at Target the other day - I was trying on yet ANOTHER trench coat, yet I live in a state that seems to always be in a drought and never get the chance to wear the three I already have. If I had some of these cute boots I'd REALLY be praying for rain!
The Storialist: you must live somewhere that wellies can be used. Sadly its not so in Los Angeles
The Bubb Report: Hi, nice to see you again. I have 2 trench coats and have worn one of them, maybe once. I always see the greatest vintage Burberry raincoats but it would never get used.
where can i find the first boots to buy online?
